Read reviews and that's when we took our van here. Needed a new alternator which is what we expected. They wanted to charge $658 when the average cost is $314!!! I thought the price was normal until we looked it up that night. The next morning When we called to ask why so much (before they did the work) it was as if they were offended that I would ask basic questions about the itemized quote and they will not budge on cost. We found alternators for $98 with warranties and they said it would be $300 for the alternator and they would not change their prices. Their final cost also included the diagnostic charge. Most places will waive that if you have them complete the work. I am so glad we left and a friend referred us to Foster's garage. They were honest, found the alternator we needed for $106 with a better warranty and were available to fix it the next day for $298! Definitely do research before letting this place charge you.

This place is a total joke! My daughters car was stolen and we had it towed to this place as a recommendation from the tow truck driver. I called them the next morning and spoke to them on the phone and was told that they would take a look at it and let me know what was going on. When I finally got the estimate it was ungodly and was told that I owed them $103 for their estimate. Hind site, I now know that many places charge for that... BUT someone should have told me up front. When I asked to speak to the manager he was extremely rude and condescending! I tried to explain that I have had many estimates with out being charged... So he should be sure to inform people. He continued to tell me I should have known or asked! (I had multiple estimates for my roof and was never charged for their time?!) I am NOT a mechanic and don't know to ask that question! Then I sent the estimate to a friend of mine who usually works on my vehicles. He found that they were charging me almost DOUBLE what they were paying for the used engine. So they are buying a used engine and making double off the actual part and then also charging the labor?! I will never deal with this company again!! Even if you read through the negative ratings on here... It's humorous to see the managers responses... Continually making it out to be the customers fault and never taking blame for anything. Total Jerk!
Have had several services there. First off however, keep in mind Bill is going to tell it to you straight and unlike a dealership, you are talking to the guy who will work on your vehicle. So he's not a "service manager" who is getting paid to chat it up with you. We brought a sick Subaru in with bad head gaskets which the dealership totally missed finding and kept telling us they didn't know where the fluid was leaking from. Bill knew in seconds but inspected closely and confirmed. Yes, the cost was steep but the work was flawless as was the communication and on time scheduling. Next came a Honda with vanishing power steering fluid that the dealership said wasn't quite bad enough to replace but if it got worse-new pump the only fix. Bill installed new hose and connectors and everything is fine for a fraction of the dreaded PS pump replacement. As other posters have noted AP is not a low priced repair center. But if you are like us-too busy to jack around returning over and over to get your vehicle running right-then AP IS a bargain in time saved and peace of mind. Bill is sweating the details so you won't have to.
