One of the best places for appliances and tools. They aren't quite as competitive with building materials and definitely not as convenient as Menards. They're basically more oriented to higher end DIYers, which is great in a lot of situations. You can still find some basic things like flooring & bath fixtures as cheap as anywhere and occasionally better quality for the cheapest price.

Worst customer service ever! Last December we purchased a $500 snow blower (plus extra for service agreement). The sales clerk emphasized how easy it would be to have it serviced and how with the warranty we would get everything taken care of for three years. We used the snowblower 3 times last winter but brought it in for oil change (which we understood to be part of our warranty from what sales person had told us). We went first to check on how to go about having the snowblower serviced. My husband went to three people before getting a manager who knew anything about the service agreement. He told us to bring the snowblower in on Monday and it would be sent out on Tuesday. When we brought it in on Monday, the clerks didn't know anything about this. It took an hour to finally get it taken care of. When my husband called a week later about picking it up, he was told that our snowblower was scheduled to be picked up on Thursday. Today he received a call. Service people said the carburetor was gummed up and it needed a tune-up (after only being used three times!). They could fix it for $109. I will never buy another major item from Lowe's again. Menards has much better customer service.
worst customer servive, at least for delivery i have ever had, 1st time delivered wrong door,2nd time they brought the right door but delvered to wrong address 20 miles away at an apartment i own,then got to my address and forgot the screen. never again will i buy something that is delivered from the jackson mi. store
i wanted to buy a 4 foot live potted pine tree to decorate on Thanksgiving so I stopped in here about 7pm the eve of Thanksgiving. the garden center gate was locked and dark and nobody was around to help me. Guess what? I went to Caps nursery and I got the prettiest potted live pine tree to decorate and then plant in the spring! Thats keeping the little guys in business and I love these people! Lowes and Home Depot stink in my honest opinion.
