We had a well pump die on us, and after calling several other companies listed online we didn't get any calls back despite being assured that we would. We called Mr. Rooter and the repairman was here within 40 minutes. Quick!!!
The tech who came out to my house was very nice. The estimate was about $1500 more than expected and extreme for the minor work I needed. The gentleman who called me back was a complete moron and had a severe attitude. He demanded that I show him pictures of the plumbing that was behind the drywall. I asked him if he could handle this job or not and he hung up on me. Bottom line: Terribly overpriced and arrogant employees. Don't waste your time with these people.
Now, I can't attest to the overall cost comparison, because as I stated, not a single one of the other companies we contacted could be bothered to call us back. Two did the following day, but after nearly 24 hours without getting a call back I wouldn't have been interested in scheduling them to come out just to have them tell me my pump was bad and then schedule a time to replace it a week later. I do, however, feel that after talking to a few friends that have had well work done that the price we paid was right in the ballpark of what it should have been.
$300 later, I have two sections of plastic tubing under my sink that I hope don't leak. Stay away from these guys. Highway robbery.
We had two areas of leaking pipe in our basement from the kitchen sink to the main line. The leaking was largely an inconvenience but we wanted it takends care of before it worsened. Our kitchen sink was also draining progessively slower. Tom, the technician, looked the problem over and gave us a very reasonable quote. $500 and 2 1/2 hours later, we had a new section of piping in the problem area, no leaks, and a sink that drained without issue. Tom was personal, professional, and took his tI'm in explaining the job he was going to do. An overall very satisfactory experience.
A bit expensive, but prompt and professional. Their quality of work has been good for everything that we've asked from them.
I had two small sections of copper tubing replaced under my sink that were leaking. Took about 45 minutes. Quality of work was not great, either. Probably could have done a better job myself if I had the right parts and the time to do it.
He then came inside and gave us a detailed estimate for what the cost would be to repair the pump, including a new pressure tank because our current tank was taking in some air. He scheduled the entire project for two days later, and they arrived about 9am that morning and were completely done by 1pm. Fast, friendly, courteous, and all around good service.
I'm not an expert on repairing things, but I am fairly handy at troubleshooting things. The worker listened to what I had done and actually paid attention, instead of just blowing me off. He took what I had told him I had checked and then double checked those things, then checked some things that I wouldn't have known to check. He determined that the pump itself had gone bad, and then showed me some readings on his multimeter that led him to determine this, explaining what they SHOULD be showing versus what they were showing.
Overall, I will be looking to Mr Rooter for all plumbing needs in the future. The fact that they not only actually responded, but had a guy here in less than an hour speaks volumes to me.
